The 2026 Monmouth Film Festival (MFF) will present All of the Above, a compelling and thought-provoking documentary feature from filmmaker Allison Walsh, as part of its 2026 program. The film will screen at Bell Works in Holmdel, NJ on Friday, May 29 at 5:00 PM.
All of the Above follows students from diverse faith backgrounds enrolled in a World Religions class at a public high school. Within a sheltered community, these students begin to confront preconceived notions about one another’s beliefs—engaging in conversations that challenge, expand, and sometimes upend their understanding of the world.

As the course unfolds, the film centers on the lived experiences of young people navigating a critical moment in their development. Through dialogue, reflection, and exposure to new ideas, they begin to question inherited beliefs and form their own evolving perspectives on identity, faith, and belonging.
Inspired by director Allison Walsh’s own transformative experience in the same classroom, the film offers an intimate and deeply personal lens into the power of education. Returning years later with a camera, Walsh documents a new generation of students as they grapple with many of the same questions—capturing a portrait of courage, curiosity, and change.

Prioritizing diverse voices—particularly those of young women from different cultural and religious backgrounds—All of the Above presents a nuanced and humanistic exploration of belief in contemporary life. The result is a moving testament to the ways in which education can open minds, foster empathy, and shape the path into adulthood.
As part of this year’s documentary lineup, All of the Above reflects the Monmouth Film Festival’s commitment to showcasing films that engage audiences in meaningful conversation and highlight stories that resonate beyond the screen.
